  1. Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports has received funds to be used for the acquisition of Training supplies (Furniture, Computer equipment and Textbooks )-Kuwait

  2. The Entity invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of the above supplies
  3. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open Open International Bidding(OIB) method contained in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act, 2003, and is open to all bidders.
  4. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at 8(a) from - .
  5. The Bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below at 8(b) and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of 200,000 UGX. The method of payment will be N/A
  6. Bids must be delivered to the address below at 8(c) at or before Wednesday, 30 Sep, 2015 . Late bids shall be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders' representatives who choose to attend at the address below at 8(d) on 30/09/2015
  7. There shall be a pre - bid meeting on 28/08/2015

  10. Additional Notes :
    1. The Government of Uganda (GOU) has received financing from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) towards the cost of the Reconstruction and Equipping of Four Technical Institutes (REFTI) Project under Loan Agreement No. 849, and intends to apply a portion of the funds to cover eligible payments under the Contracts for which this Prequalification Document for Training Supplies has been issued, i.e. for the Equipping of four Technical Institutes (Ahmed Seguya Memorial TI, Tororo TI, Kalongo TI and Kibatsi TI in Kayunga, Tororo, Agago and Ntungamo Districts respectively). 2. In line with the provisions of the Financing Agreement, bidding will be conducted in accordance with the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) with Prequalification method contained in the Guidelines for the Procurement of Goods and Works of KFAED and GOU’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets (PPDA) Act, 2003 and is open to all eligible bidders. 3. The Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Sports (MESTS), which is the Executing Agency for the REFTI Project, now invites sealed applications from eligible bidders for the above supplies, which have been packaged into Five (5) lots by category, i.e. Lot 1: Supply and Installation of Furniture; Lot 2: Supply and Installation of Equipment; Lot 3: Supply and Delivery of Textbooks; Lot 4: Supply and Installation of Computers and Accessories; and Lot 5: Supply of Four 30-Seater Buses. Bidders are free to apply and can be shortlisted for all the five (5) lots, but the award of subsequent supplies contracts shall be limited to a maximum of two (2) lots. 4. MESTS will shortlist all qualified applicants and issue a Request for Quotations to the shortlisted applicants. The eventual successful bidder is expected to supply the respective supplies to all the above 4 technical institutes.
