WWF’s (World Wide Fund for Nature) mission is to stop the degradation of the earth’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by conserving the world’s biological diversity, ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable, and promoting the reduction of pollution and wasteful consumption.

Pursuant to this mission, WWF Uganda Country Office (WWF UCO) with funding from the European Union (EU) and the French Global Facility for Environment (FFEM) is implementing “Sustainable Financing of the Rwenzori Mountain National Park (SFRMNP) Project” in Partnership with Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) and National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA). The project is supporting development of tourism infrastructure along Bukurungu trail as a key tourism product in Rwenzori Mountains National Park (RMNP). Opening of trail has been completed and the next phase will involves development of all infrastructural requirements along the trail. The 61km trail traverses through the different vegetation zone with longest being the heather zone which is 40km. Other vegetation zones covered by the trail are 7km Bamboo, 6km of forest, 5km of Afro montane and 3km of the alpine zones.

WWF UCO in partnership with UWA is seeking the services of competent and experienced firm to submit proposals to: Develop Architectural Design and Construction of Tourism Structures along Bikurungu Trail, Rwenzori Mountains National Park.
