The Government of Uganda (GoU) has received financing from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank towards the cost of Uganda Energy for Rural Transformation Phase III (ERT III), and it intends to apply part of the proceeds to payments under the contract for procurement of design, supply and installation of works for construction of 33kV Medium voltage lines and associated low voltage networks under Lot 1: Kiganda-Mile 16 with Tee-Off Katabalanga and Kyabamirizi (110.77km) and Lot 2: Ruhumba -Kashwa with Tee-offs to Rwebishuri (125km). This project will be jointly financed by the Government of Uganda. Bidding process will be governed by the World Bank's rules and procedures.

The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for proposed procurement of Design, Supply, and Installation of the works for the construction of the 33kv medium voltage power lines and associated low voltage Lot 1: Kiganda-mile 16 with tee-off Katabalanga and Kyabamirizi (110.77km) and Lot 2: Ruhumba-Kashwa with tee-offs to Rwebishuri (125km).

The time for completion of the whole of the facilities shall be 15 Calendar months from the Effective Date as described in the Contract Agreement.

The bidding documents will require bidders with specific experience as a contractor, management contractor, or subcontractor, in at least two (02) contracts within the last seven (07) years, each with a value of at least Lot 1: US$ 4,500,000 and Lot 2: US$ 4,000,000 that have been successfully and substantially completed and that are similar to the proposed Plant and Installation Services. The similarity shall be based on the physical size, complexity, and methods/ technology.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding procedures as specified in the World Bank's Guidelines: Procurement of Goods, Works and Non-Consulting Services under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers (January 2011, Revised July 2014), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Guidelines. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested eligible bidders upon the submission

of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Uganda Shillings 300,000/= (Three Hundred Thousand Shillings Only). The method of payment will be paying cash to REA Accounts Department and obtaining a receipt.

Bids must be delivered to the address below on or before 22nd February 2018 Time: 11:00am (local time). Electronic bidding will NOT be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the bidders' designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below on 22nd February 2018 Time: 11:35am (local time).

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security and shall be inform of bank guarantee. The amount and currency of the bid security shall be: LOT 1: United States Dollars One Hundred and Ten Thousand Only (USD 110,000) and LOT 2: United States Dollars One Hundred Thousand Only (USD 100,000)
