BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE

Under a joint implementation strategy, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMO) in collaboration with GIZ Energising Development (EnDev) Uganda, provides support to local stove manufacturers and third party distributors to facilitate sustainable rnarket-based access to high quality and affordable, energy efficient cook stoves for rural and urban households through strategic technical and financial support

EnDev is a global multi-donor partnership implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) that facilitates market-based access to modern energy services in 25 countries worldwide.

In line with this, GIZ - EnDev Uganda is launching a tender for a result- based financing (RBF) distribution consultancy, providing a sales-based incentive to facilitate the sale and distribution of 30,000 high quality and affordable improved charcoal household cook stoves (ICS). This tender targets stove manufacturers and third part distributors of ICS, as well as organizations active in the clean cooking sector to reach out to additional households within Uganda.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Qualified and experienced stove companies and distributors, as well as organizations active in the clean cooking sector with valid legal status in Uganda, and which meet the necessary criteria, are encouraged to apply. Interested applicants can also apply as a small consortium with one company acting as lead agency, or sub-contract part of the work to meet the overall sales target (to be indicated in the application). The specifications and details of the submission requirements can be collected from the GIZ Country Office starting from this day's announcement at no cost, or via email upon request. Submit your email request to secretariat.giz-uganda@giz.de indicating "Invitation to bid for a Results-Based Finance (RBF) Consultancy for the distribution and sale of improved charcoal household cook stoves within Uganda" no later than Monday 29th January, 2018.

Bids shall be delivered to the address mentioned below on or before Monday 5th February, 2018, 16:00 HRS (4:00 PM). No bid shall Be received after this deadline.
