The Trust Fund for Victims was established to Provide reparations and assistance to victims of crimes within the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. The Trust Fund materializes the global commitment made under the Rome Statute to support the rehabilitation of victimized individuals and communities, and to restore dignity to survivors of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Since 2008 the Trust Fund has provided rehabilitation assistance to more than 45,000 victims in northern Uganda.

Programme Description.

The focus of the programme is to increase the capacity and enhance access to rehabilitative medical and surgical care and mental health services to alleviate victim injuries in northern Uganda. The injury and trauma condition that may be addressed include but is not limited to the following: Reconstructive plastic surgery to remedy facial, head, and burn injuries; Provide prosthetic devises (fitting and repairs); Physiotherapy treatment; Trauma counselling and psychological support services; Provide orthotic devises and related services; Orthopaedic surgical services; Provision of professional health services (physical and mental health) for all individuals (women, men, and children) who have been victims of sexual violence; Corrective surgery to remove foreign objects (bullets and/or shrapnel); Relieve post-burn contractures, corrective surgery, and physiotherapy; Mobility and recuperative therapy (burns); Conduct victim patient community mobilization initiatives; and Establish and maintain referral mechanism with competent service providers for post-operative care and follow-up, as examples.

The Trust Fund is pleased to invite competent non-governmental organizations in Uganda who are active in healthcare service provision (physical and mental health) to apply to this Expression of Interest by submitting to the following e-mail address the documents listed under the 3 minimum criteria: tenders@icc-cpi.int.
