Uganda has a progressive refugee protection policy, providing refugees with freedom of movement, the right to work and establish businesses, the right to documentation and access to national social services. The country pursues a non-camp settlement policy, by which refugees are allocated plots of land for shelter and agricultural production, stretching out over vast territories.
Through this project, UNOP will target 1,250 vulnerable households in lmvepi, Bidibidi and Palorinya settlements, in Arua, Yumbe and Moyo districts respectively, to provide livelihood support through cash for work and micro-enterprise development and to provide emergency livelihood support to 2,250 refugees and hosting community members in Palorinya
refugee settlement, Moyo district, and Imvegi refugee settlement, Arua district, through cash for work activities.
In order to implement the above mentioned project, UNDP Uganda intends to Procure a competent Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Civil Society Organization (COO), firm or institution.
